Are your floors sticky after cleaning?

There are two main reasons why your floor remains sticky after it has been mopped.

Most people think that this is caused by whatever has come from outdoors, on the bottom of shoes, or that a substance has been spilled.

In actual fact it may be that you don’t have the correct equipment to clean the floor and your cleaning method may be to blame.

1) Incorrect method

Conventional mopping is the most common method of cleaning floors and is the worst for causing sticky surfaces.

Using a mop and bucket you are only spreading dirt around. A key fact as to why you find your floors continue to be sticky,

Another reason is you leave floors wet which allows the dirt from shoes to be transferred on to the floor.

What method works best?

Scrubber Dryer machines are by far the best solution, cleaning up to 70% faster than traditional mopping whilst leaving the floor touch dry.

2) Incorrect chemical and dirty water.

There is no “one chemical for all floors” so it is crucial that you do your research or contact us at G Bradbury for advice on which chemical best meets your needs.

When you begin mopping you have a clean mop, a bucket full of clean water along with chemical.

  • You apply the solution and wring out your mop.
  • You are now attempting to clean with dirty water.
  • You repeat the process, continuing to apply dirty water to the floor.
